Powers of Attorney
Regardless of your age, relationship status or current state of health, it is important to know there is a person you can trust to make decisions on your behalf in the event that you become incapacitated due to illness or injury, or in case you are away from home for an extended time.
A Power of Attorney is a document that gives authorisation for an elected person to do that. You can also authorise your Power of Attorney to make medical decisions about your health and treatment.
- General powers of attorney;
- Enduring financial powers of attorney;
- Enduring powers of guardianship.
Enduring Powers of Attorney (Medical) have recently been replaced by a series of new forms, including the Appointment of Medical Treatment Decision Maker. We discuss these changes in greater detail here. We are happy to discuss the changes and prepare any of these new documents for you.
At Clancy & Triado our expert lawyers are here to talk with you about your needs, to advise you on the legal effect of a Power of Attorney, and to prepare the documentation in accordance with your instructions.
