An Accredited Specialist is a solicitor recognised by the Law Institute of Victoria as being an expert in their particular field of law.

To become accredited, lawyers must have at least five years full time practice experience and at least three years practice experience in their area of specialisation.  They must pass a comprehensive examination process and maintain a high degree of professional development in their area of specialisation.
